Case Studies
Clyde Valley Family Farm Park, located in Carluke, South Lanarkshire, has recently launched an exciting new outdoor play space, known as the ‘Guddle’ area. Designed and installed by Timberplay Scotland, this new addition has been well-received by visitors.
The new play area offers a range of engaging opportunities for children, including an extensive water play section. Water play is not only a fun and interactive element, but it also plays a crucial role in helping regulate children's body temperature during play, especially in warmer weather. Even when it doesn’t feel dangerously hot, physical activity can cause children to overheat, making water play a perfect solution for keeping cool.
This area features a complex water transport system, multiple channels and dams, a water bicycle, and several water guns, offering a variety of ways for children to explore and play. The water transport system promotes communication and teamwork, as children collaborate to control the flow, turning and twisting different mechanisms together. The water bicycle, on the other hand, appeals to curious minds, allowing children to experiment with water pressure by adjusting their speed or effort while pedalling.
Alongside the water play, the 'Guddle' area also includes sand play and various climbing structures, ensuring that there’s something for every visitor to enjoy.
Clyde Valley Family Park’s new outdoor space not only enhances the play experience but also encourages creativity, cooperation, and learning, making it a perfect addition for families.
“The journey to achieve this fantastic waterplay and education space has resulted in a well thought out and well used space. The accolade has to go to all involved, the Timberplay team and the Clyde Valley Team. Thank you everyone!”
